Date: 10/22...thru 1028/09
first part of the period, water had cooled to 67-68F and when we came in on Wed. the water temp had gone up to 73F. As has been the case all year... when the fish are here today....they will move by tomorrow... .. bull reds at several locations around the bay are alive and well... Fri...caught 6 Bull Reds along with several pompano and a few slot reds... All fishing for Bull Reds is a ( CPR) catch, photo and release .trip.... sat caught 5 Bull Reds 2 pompano and 2 keeper reds.. .. Mon got rained out...Robert and Jan Reid in for a 2 day trip.. Tuesday caught tons of gaftop (did not keep any)lost count on the Bull Reds 11 0r 12, i think... could have been 15, i just don't remember... also a 40# Ray, several whiting and lots of hard heads..and several sharks.. barometer started down Tues nite and Wednesday was a banner day.. again lots of gaftop and a few hard heads and somewhere between 40 and 50 Bull Reds.. mostly between 38 - 43 inches...smallest one 35"...broke one rod and broke off several Bull Reds.... Took lots of pics will post as soon as i can... wind at approx 20 most of the day... free lining shrimp and cut bait.. see you on the water...capt mac
